Manglik Matching — Mangal Dosha in Both Charts, Read Together

What the calculator shows

For each person: the lagna (ascendant), Mars' sign and degree, its house counted from the lagna, the Moon and Venus, the grade of the dosha (none, anshik or full), and which of the four classical cancellations apply in that chart. Then the pair reading: both clear, cancelled, both Manglik and balanced, one Manglik but balanced by the partner's chart, or one Manglik and flagged. When only one chart is Manglik it lists the balancing placements in the other chart one by one, with the ones that apply marked. Birth times are needed for both; a date alone fixes the Moon but not the houses.

Can a Manglik marry a non-Manglik?

Yes, and the texts that describe the dosha also describe when the pairing is acceptable. The oldest rule is Mars answering Mars: if the other chart also has Mars in one of the six houses, the two doshas are held to cancel. The matching texts extend that to Saturn, and most practitioners to Rahu and Ketu, in the same houses of the partner's chart; some add the Sun, which we show but mark as disputed. Separately, a dosha that is cancelled inside its own chart, by Mars being in its own or exalted sign, by Jupiter's company or aspect, by one of the sign-and-house exemptions, or by a Leo or Aquarius lagna, is treated by most astrologers as no dosha at all. Only when none of that applies does the pairing stay flagged, and even then it is a reason to read both charts together, not a verdict.

Both Manglik: how the pairing is read

A Manglik is traditionally advised to marry a Manglik, and when both charts carry the dosha the match is not held back on this count. The cleanest form is two doshas of similar degree, both full or both anshik. A full-with-partial pairing is accepted by most astrologers; a few prefer equal strength, so the result says which case you have. An anshik (partial) Manglik, Mars in a Manglik house from only one reference point and not in the 7th or 8th, counts as Manglik for this purpose.

What the tool does not check

It does not read the 7th house and its lord, Venus and Jupiter in each chart, the navamsa, or the dashas either person is running, all of which a full matching weighs alongside Mars. It does not apply the age-28 discount (popular, not textual; it is noted, not counted) and it does not judge remedies such as Kumbh Vivah. It uses the popular sign-and-house exemption list, which is broader than the older verse, exactly as the single-chart Mangal Dosha calculator does, so a chart reads the same on both pages. Pair it with the 36-guna Guna Milan, which reads the two Moons and says nothing about Mars, and you have the two checks most families ask for.
