What the calculator shows

Your Moon sign and nakshatra; a plain status (Sade Sati with its phase, Dhaiya, or clear); the start and end date of the current period; and a lifetime table of every Sade Sati and Dhaiya from birth to age 95, each dated to the day. Where Saturn turns retrograde and slips back across a sign boundary, as it does between Aries and Pisces in 2027–28, the table shows the real split periods rather than a tidy fiction.

The three phases

First phase (Saturn in the 12th from the Moon): expenses rise, sleep and peace are disturbed, travel or a move is common; the feeling is of carrying more than usual. Second, peak phase (Saturn on the Moon): the mind itself is under Saturn — low energy, pessimism, health and family matters, decisions that feel heavy. Third phase (Saturn in the 2nd): finances and family come into focus, effort starts paying back, and the weight lifts through the final year. Each phase is about 2½ years; the whole run about 7½.

Dhaiya — the small panoti

Besides Sade Sati, Saturn's 2½-year transit through the 4th (Kantaka Shani) or 8th (Ashtama Shani) from the Moon is read as a lighter trial — home, mother and mental peace from the 4th; health, inheritance and sudden change from the 8th. The calculator lists these with the same precision.

Is it always bad?

No — and the honest version of astrology says so. Sade Sati rewards discipline and punishes shortcuts; plenty of people build their careers, marriages and savings squarely inside it. How it feels depends on Saturn's own strength in your chart, your Moon's sign (Saturn is easy on Libra, Capricorn and Aquarius Moons, harder on Aries, Cancer and Leo), the running dasha, and whether Jupiter aspects your Moon. A Sade Sati during a strong Jupiter mahadasha and one during a Rahu–Saturn period are different experiences with the same name.

Why results can differ between sites

Three reasons. Some sites use a different ayanamsa, which can move a Moon near a sign boundary. Some use a fixed “Saturn in sign X from date Y” table rather than the ephemeris, so they miss retrograde re-entries. And some are simply out of date, still listing the rashis from Saturn's Aquarius years. Ours reads Saturn's position from the same planetary theory as the full kundli, on the day you ask.
