How the AI astrologer reads your chart
AI astrology is three separate things stacked together — one you can verify, one that is tradition, and one that stays human. Keeping them apart is what makes this a useful tool rather than a confident guess.
The astronomy — computed
Where each graha stood at your birth, your lagna to the degree, the dates of your dasha periods. Arithmetic with a right answer, done by our own ephemeris code (VSOP87/ELP, Lahiri ayanamsa) before the AI sees anything. Verifiable against any professional ephemeris.
The interpretation — read
What Saturn in the 7th is held to mean, what a Jupiter antardasha tends to bring. Classical Parashari rules, applied to the computed placements and cited in the answer. Coherent and internally consistent — a tradition, not an empirical claim.
The judgement — yours
Which of forty applicable rules matters for you, right now, given what is actually going on in your life. The AI lays the rules out plainly and says when the chart is quiet. Weighing them is for you, or for an astrologer who knows you.
What an answer looks like
Ask “when will I get married?” and a generic chatbot gives you a paragraph that would fit anyone. Here the answer reads more like: “Your 7th house is Capricorn with Saturn, its own lord, placed there — a delayed but stable marriage indicator in the tradition. Venus, the natural karaka, sits in the 11th with Jupiter's aspect. You are in Saturn mahadasha until March 2029, and the Saturn–Venus antardasha from late 2027 is the period most astrologers would watch.” Every claim points at something you can see in the chart above, and the AI will say so when a placement is weak or the picture is mixed.
Where AI genuinely helps
The mechanical work of astrology is real work. Casting a chart by hand takes an experienced astrologer the better part of an hour and it is the part most prone to slips; software does it in milliseconds and does not get tired. Interpretation benefits differently: a chart generates an enormous number of applicable rules — house lords, aspects, dignities, nakshatra lords, dasha sequences, divisional charts — and holding them in view at once is exactly the synthesis a language model is good at. It also explains a term the moment you ask, without you feeling foolish for asking, and it has no consultation meter running.
Where it does not — and what it will not do
A model has no way to know that the career question you asked is really about a marriage, or that you are frightened rather than curious. It cannot decide which of forty valid readings is the one you need. And language models have an unhelpful instinct to answer everything, when sometimes the honest response is that the chart says very little.
So this AI astrologer is instructed to work only from your computed placements, to cite the ones it used, and to say plainly when the chart does not support an answer. It will not predict a death or a diagnosis, will not tell you to buy a gemstone or book a puja, and hands any medical, legal or financial question back to the professional who should answer it. What we do not claim
Vedic astrology is a traditional practice rooted in belief. There is no scientific evidence that planetary positions influence human affairs, and nothing here asserts otherwise. What we claim is narrower and testable: the chart we compute is the chart the classical rules describe, and the reading you get is derived from it rather than invented. On the name: Kundali GPT is independent and not affiliated with OpenAI or ChatGPT. The language model that reads your chart is a general model reached through an API gateway (the provider may change); the chart it reads is computed by our own ephemeris code, and the model is never asked to calculate anything.

Accuracy, limits and privacy
Two different things are being asked when someone asks whether an AI astrologer is accurate. We keep them apart.
- The chart
- Astronomy, and accurate to within a minute of arc of any professional ephemeris: VSOP87/ELP positions, Lahiri ayanamsa, mean node, whole-sign houses, the real historical time zone of your birth place. Degrees and the ayanamsa are printed so you can check.
- The reading
- Classical Parashari interpretation applied to the computed placements. A tradition, not a prediction that can be tested — and every answer says which placements it rests on so the reasoning is visible.
- Birth time
- The lagna changes sign roughly every two hours. With an approximate time the Moon-based readings (rashi, nakshatra, dasha, Sade Sati) stay reliable; house-based readings should be treated as provisional. The birth-time rectification tool can narrow the window.
- What it refuses
- Death and disease prediction, medical, legal and financial advice, remedies for sale. It also refuses to calculate or invent a planetary position — everything it says about your chart came from the computed data.
- Privacy
- The chart is drawn in your browser. When you ask a question, your birth details and the question go to our server, which recomputes the chart and passes the placements to the language model for an answer. Nothing is stored afterwards. No phone number, no account required; signing in (optional, for more questions) stores only your email, name and a session.
