About Kundali GPT

A free Vedic chart calculator with an AI that reads it, and a straight account of how both work.

What this site is

kundaligpt.ai calculates your Vedic birth chart and lets you ask questions about it. The chart (all nine grahas, your ascendant, whole-sign houses, your Vimshottari dasha and the doshas that apply) and all 39 calculators are free and unlimited, with no account to create. The AI chat is free for 3 questions a day, or 10 if you sign in; that cap covers the running cost without putting the astrology itself behind a paywall. There are no ads, no paid reports and nothing to buy at the end of a reading.

Who makes it

One person. Kundali GPT is independent and founder-run: the same person writes the code, checks the maths and reads the contact inbox. There is no team, no investor and no sales target, which is why the site can afford to say plainly what astrology is and is not. If something is wrong, the fastest way to get it fixed is to write in.

How it works, in order

The order is the point. Most AI astrology asks a chatbot to work out where the planets were, which is arithmetic a language model has no way to perform. It answers anyway, confidently and wrongly.

Here the chart is computed first, in your browser, using VSOP87 for the planets and ELP for the Moon (the theories professional ephemerides are built on), then shifted to the sidereal zodiac with the Lahiri ayanamsa, with Rahu and Ketu at the mean node and whole-sign houses. Your birth moment is resolved through the time zone that actually applied at that instant, which matters more than it sounds: India ran +5:53:20 until 1906.

Only then does an AI get involved, and it receives those figures as fixed facts. It is instructed to interpret them using classical Parashari rules, to cite the placements it used, and never to compute a position itself. If the chart does not support an answer, it has to say so. You can see exactly how the maths was verified.

What we do not claim

  • That astrology predicts anything. It is a traditional practice rooted in belief. We present it as the tradition does, not as fact.
  • That this replaces professional advice. The AI declines medical, legal, financial and psychiatric questions, will not predict a death, and reports doshas with their classical cancellations rather than as a threat.
  • That we are connected to OpenAI. Kundali GPT is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by OpenAI or ChatGPT, and it is not kundligpt.com or any similarly named site. “GPT” is used in its general sense. The chart is computed by our own code; the language model that reads it is a general model reached through an API gateway, and the provider may change.
  • That the chart is beyond doubt. It is only as good as the birth time you give us. Four minutes moves the ascendant a degree.

Your data

Drawing your chart or running a calculator sends nothing anywhere; it happens entirely in your browser. The AI chat is the one exception: your birth details and your question go to our server, which recomputes the chart and passes the placements and the question to the language model for a reply. Nothing is stored afterwards, and we never ask for a phone number. Signing in is optional, only raises the daily question limit, and stores your email, name and a session. The privacy policy spells this out.

Corrections

If a calculation looks wrong, or you follow a tradition whose tables differ from ours, we would genuinely like to hear about it. Write to us via the contact page with the birth details and the result you expected.
